On this Mother's Day, we'll honor the mother of all: Mother Earth. This is the topic chosen by Deb Downing, the winner of the "Worship Service" item offered at the 2007 Auction by the Worship Committee. Come hear friends and members share how their spirituality is shaped by the earth and how their relationship with nature is influenced by their spirituality. |

“To Lead From the Heart” – Rev. Paul Boothby. Ministry in the Unitarian Universalist Church is an ambiguous undertaking. In a religion where authority rests in the individual conscience, what is the role of spiritual leadership? With so many of our members coming out of other traditions, expectations of the role of clergy are often confused. In today's service we explore the special office of ministry in a UU context. UUCC is pleased to welcome Rev. Boothby back to our pulpit. A graduate of Starr King School for the Ministry, Rev. Boothby has served eight congregations, including three interim ministries in Virginia, and is currently minister of the First Unitarian Church of Lynchburg. |
